Be in to win a 22K Gold handled Champion Golden Brush!

That's right folks, the inside weather is here which means that it is once again time to get your brushes and paints ready to enter our 2018 Tabletop Gaming Painting Competition, brought to you in association with The Army Painter.

So let's take a look at how you can take part in this great hobby event and be in to win a share of over $800 worth of prizes including a 22K Gold handled Champion Golden Brush…

The Categories:

  • Single Infantry Figure

Entries may consist of a single infantry figure from 25mm-32mm scale on an appropriately sized base.

  • Single Vehicle

Entries may consist of a single vehicle from 25mm-32mm scale and may include an appropriately sized base.

  • Single Monster

Entries may consist of a single monster or cavalry miniature from 25mm-32mm scale and must include an appropriately sized base.

  • Infantry Squad

Entries may consist of a single infantry squad of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 miniatures from 25mm-32mm scale on appropriately sized bases.

To be eligible for entry the miniatures must be from a tabletop gaming range at 25mm-32mm scale, including wargames, miniatures games and miniatures from board games. Miniatures must be based on appropriately sized gaming bases.

To enter, simply message us with no more than 2 photos of the completed work on the Mighty Ape Hobbies Facebook page.

Entries will be judged by Mighty Ape Hobbies and a panel of guest judges to select the winner for each category.

Be in to win a 22K Gold handled Champion Golden Brush

The prizes for each category winner are still to be announced but will have a value of no less than $100 NZD each.

One overall winner will be selected from the four category winners and this grand champion will receive the limited edition Champion Golden Brush from The Army Painter; an exclusive 22K Gold handled Kolinsky brush.

Finally all entries will go into the draw for participation prizes including Mighty Ape Primate memberships (NZ entries only), miniatures and the grand participation prize of an Army Painter Mega Paint Set!

The Competition Rules:

1. The competition is open to New Zealand and Australian residents who have “liked” the Mighty Ape Hobbies Facebook page

2. Each participant can submit up to 3 entries for each category. Enter by messaging a photo of the completed work to Mighty Ape Hobbies. Composite image photos are not allowed.

3. Entries will be uploaded to the Competition Album and also posted to the Hobbies Blog. Photos will be tagged with the name of the entrant. Entries must be the work of the participant and we reserve the right to disqualify suspect entries. Miniatures which have been entered in previous Mighty Ape painting competitions are not eligible.

4. Entries will close on the 31st August 2018. Once judging is complete the winners will be announced on the 21st September 2018.

5. Finalists and runner-up placings for each category will be publicly announced during the judging process however finalists & runners up will not be entitled to any prizes unless stated in the main competition details.

6. The judge's decision on the winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

7. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or credit. Prize values are stated at New Zealand RRP. Champion Golden Brush is supplied by The Army Painter

8. The organisers of the competition reserve the right to change the rules of the competition at any time if they feel it is necessary.

    For the Single Vehicle entry, would a Games Workshop - Warhammer 40k - Baneblade be allowed? I believe it is still in the 25mm - 32mm scale but thought I would ask.
